ReplyDeleteI always prefer honesty. I don't respond. I move away quietly and find somewhere quiet in the house to sit and dwell. An hour later, they emerge - and my daughter asks if I can give them a ride into town...

Better to be the cool and supportive dad, making sure she has access to birth control on your health insurance plan; a generous allowance to stay in the trendiest clothes; not objecting when her and her friends raid the liquor cabinet, or about her having sex in her home bedroom or the hottub. You want your daughter to be able to drink and have sex in the comfort and safety of her own home because you are a good dad:)
